Towing to Prevent Drunk DrivingDec 29th, 2011 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Spotlight
Towing companies across the U.S. are towing to prevent drunk driving this holiday season with free tows for impaired drivers. News reports describe the efforts of local towing companies as they offer free towing on Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Many of the participating towers have seen the tragedy that can result from drunk driving and/or have lost friends and family members in alcohol-related accidents.
Towers are also participating in AAA’s Tipsy Tow program, which offers free towing and a ride home between the hours of 6 p.m. Saturday, December 31st through 6 a.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012. Motorists do not have to have a AAA membership to use this service on New Year’s Eve. Towers can contact their local AAA chapter to learn if it is participating.
