Police in Beaufort County, South Carolina, are investigating a fatal shooting involving a tow truck operator. According to a news report, Carlos Olivera, 34, was shot Friday, December 24 after arguing with tow truck operator Preston Oates in the Edgefield neighborhood in Bluffton. The two disagreed over whether Olivera’s minivan was properly parked. Oates said his actions were in self-defense. Olivera’s brother stated that Carlos showed Oates a handgun tucked in his waistband, but never pointed the weapon, the report said. No charges have been filed.
