Get a Bite?
Dec 7th, 2012 | By Editorial Staff | Category: From our latest issueIn a major league fishing expedition, one of two heavy-duty recovery units from Tanner’s Truck & Equipment of Rockport, Ark., is used to hook a 50,000-lb. mobile crane at the bottom of Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, Ark. The crane fell from a barge, and an insurance company contacted Tanner’s to wet a hook and recover the machine.
A 20
07 Peterbilt 378 Century 9055 and a 2008 Kenworth 370 Century 4024 were driven onto a U-shaped barge. Tugboats positioned them over the crane, and divers secured winch lines to the machine.
See the December issue Recovery Review for the full story on this fishing trip — which was strictly catch and release.
