Denver Vehicle Towed with Infant InsideDec 1st, 2010 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Colorado, National News
A Denver towing company removed a car Tuesday, Nov. 30, with a nine-month-old baby inside, according to a news report.
Excalibur Recovery removed a car blocking a business garage after the car had been sitting there for an hour, the report states. Thirty minutes after the car was towed, the company received a call from the parents telling them their child was in the car. The towing company immediately called the police upon receiving the parent’s call.
A spokesman at the company said they do look in the cars, but in this instance saw nothing but a baby seat covered in blankets, and because of the length of time the car sat in front of the garage, felt child abuse charges should be sought, according to the report.
The little girl was picked up at an impound lot where the car had been dropped. Paramedics checked the girl and said she was fine, according to the report.
The child was returned to the parents by the police. Officers said they will investigate the situation to see if any charges need to be filed.
