A tow truck driver was struck and killed Thursday, Nov. 4, on I-65 just south of I-80 near Gary, Indiana. A news report said the driver, who was from a service company, was changing a tire on a tractor-trailer Thursday night and killed at 11:43 p.m. The driver has not been identified pending notification of relatives.
According to the Indiana State Police, another motorist was injured in the same accident when the Land Rover he was driving crashed into the rear of the tow truck, which was parked behind the tractor-trailer. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injures, the report said. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
