Missouri Woman Shoots at Repo Workers Towing Her VanOct 29th, 2010 | By Editorial Staff | Category: National News
A St. Louis County woman fired three gunshots at repossession workers who were towing her van on Saturday, Oct. 23, according to a news report.
Phylida Edwards, 39, was charged Tuesday with armed criminal action and discharging a firearm at a motor vehicle, the report states. Her bond was set at $50,000.
Officials say two employees of Metropolitan Repossession and Recovery in St. Louis identified themselves to Edwards as they hooked up the 2004 silver Chevrolet Venture to a tow truck at Edwards’ home Saturday evening. Edwards gave indications that she was going to retrieve possessions from the vehicle, but she was carrying a .22-caliber revolver, according to the report.
She shot in the direction of her van and the repo workers standing there, officials say. The workers, 43 and 19, drove off with the van in tow, calling police as the woman went back inside, the report states. After a short discussion over the phone, officials were able to talk her out of her home.
Edwards told officials she was trying to shoot out the tires on the vehicle.
