You Gotta Wanta

I read the following quote by Cavett Robert and it really got me thinking:

To grow, we must have the gift of dissatisfaction. We must want circumstances to be better than they are now. It is only through divine discontent that we keep moving forward. Remember, you gotta wanta.”

I think this quote fits in really well with what speakers from both the Republican and Democratic national conventions had to say. Many American citizens are dissatisfied and want circumstances to be better than they are now. Our country definitely needs to move forward, and to do this, we gotta wanta do something about it.

Personally, I want my own circumstances to be better than they are now. Talking to a fellow tower, she too said she is tired of worrying, of the constant stress and tension between her and her husband, and the fact that she doesn’t feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Haven’t we all thought that if we wait for just a little longer the market may improve? Or I’ll have more time to deal with it all tomorrow? I realize that procrastination and looking for reasons not to do something are not good choices right now. Because of the circumstances of the ever-changing economy and discontent I feel, I gotta wanta make some decisions and changes for a better tomorrow, and I need to do it now.

I think Cavett Robert is correct … not being content could turn out to be a good thing.
