Philadelphia Tow Truck Operator Killed by Rival, Police Say

According to a news report, Ray Santiago, 30, who worked for Siani’s Towing was killed after being struck by a tow truck driven by Glen McDaniel, 25, a driver for Straight Up Towing. Police said the incident occurred Sunday at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a bar at Frankford and LeHigh Avenues.
The alleged homicide occurred after the two operators argued over territory and/or a woman, police said. McDaniel is accused of allegedly getting into his truck and running over Santiago twice before leaving the scene. Police apprehended McDaniel approximately one-half mile away, the report said.
Santiago was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m., reports said.
