Lifting Demo at the Tennessee Tow ShowSep 21st, 2012 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Spotlight
Attendees of the Tennessee Tow Show were treated to an impressive feat of lifting power when Doug Yates Towing of Chattanooga, in conjunction with Miller Industries, hoisted two cement trucks and a Mack chassis off the side of their new Century 75-ton rotator mounted on a 2012 twin-steer Peterbilt. The demonstration was hosted by Crouch’s Wrecker & Equipment Sales of Nashville, Tenn.
The rigging was a challenge to get the three trucks on the boom and not touch each other. Dual H-beam outriggers enabled the truck to perform this lift, says Shannon Yates. “Years ago, it was impressive for a truck to lift one 40,000-lb. truck off the side,” Yates says.
This load was over 70,000 lbs.
“It was definitely eye-catching,” Yates says.
