Heading to ChattanoogaJul 27th, 2012 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Geri Roskopf's Blog
My husband and I are heading down to Chattanooga this September. We plan on attending the Tennessee Tow Show, to visit the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum (ITRHFM) and to attend the Wall of the Fallen Unveiling Ceremony and the 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and Ceremony.
I have been to my fair share of tow shows over the years, and I have to admit looking at towing equipment, checking out light bars and discussing boom capacity is not up there with what I consider a whole lot of fun. The schedule of events for the Tennessee Tow Show, though, looks like it has something for everyone.
Training and demonstrations, all kinds of towing related seminars, TRAA meetings and light-duty certification testing, live music, a mock trial, beauty contest and the Coker Tire “Show Car Cruise In” featuring antique and vintage automobiles are just some of the events offered.
Along with all of these events, we plan on being typical tourists, too. Not sure if we’ll hit all of the attractions, but we would like to check out the underground waterfall of Ruby Falls, take a ride straight up the mountain on the Incline Railway, visit the Tennessee Aquarium, possibly get dinner in a restaurant at the Chattanooga Choo Choo where the servers sing for your supper and we don’t want to miss Lookout Mountain and Rock City.
I really like the idea of all of these attractions and activities tied in with a tow show. It’s a lot of “bang for your buck.” Boy, I sound like a little kid who can’t wait to do it all — are we there yet?
