“When using air cushions it’s critical to get lifting straps under the casualty as soon as possible,” says industry trainer Tom Luciano in the Tow Times June article “Air Cushions of Booms?”

“A good practice is to place straps on the casualty after the cushions lift it approximately one foot. Having straps on the trailer supports the trailer in case a cushion ‘kicks out’ from under the load.”
