Doug Diego (left) and his father John are in the Tow Times July issue Recovery Review spotlight for their move of a Nike Hercules missile in May. Diego Truck Repair & Towing of Greenbrae, Calif., transported the 35-foot missile from its home at a Nike Missile launch site in the Marin Headlands of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area to the Marin County Fairgrounds in San Rafael. The missile is a remainder of the Cold War era, when missile sites were strategically placed around the country to thwart attacks from Soviet bombers.

Diego Truck Repair & Towing loaded the Nike Hercules on their 435B 50-foot Landoll trailer and with escort vehicles, slowly negotiated the winding roads near the San Francisco Bay Area and Golden Gate Bridge. Needless to say, their procession received many stunned gazes from onlookers.

See the July issue Recovery Review department for more about this high-profile  job.
