Batter up!Jun 11th, 2013 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Geri Roskopf's Blog
It’s that time of year for the all-American past time – baseball! Time to put on the home-team jersey, tailgate with family and friends, cheer the team on to victory and sing “Take me out to the ballgame” during the seventh inning stretch. And going to a baseball game wouldn’t be the same without having a beer, brat or hot dog. It seems hot dogs just don’t taste the same when you grill them at home.
It’s also time for towers to step up to the plate. What’s your batting average for attending meetings of your state or national towing associations? How many times have you turned up for practice to fine tune your recovery skills or learn about new towing industry legislation pertaining? In your day-to-day business, are you able to swing at that curve ball thrown at you? Or catch that high fly or grounder without any errors
Okay, I agree, towers don’t get paid the big bucks like baseball players, but towers do need to pull together as a team to be winners in this industry. If you belong to your state and national towing associations, you are a part of a team dedicated to the betterment of this industry.
Just like a major league baseball team, the towing industry needs towers who are coaches (owners, great leaders or bosses, professional towing instructors and towing association board members), pitchers, catchers, basemen and outfielders (dispatchers, managers, mechanics, drivers and towing association members) and it needs bat boys (support personnel and family) — and, of course, they need fans (customers).
Don’t just stand by the sidelines, get involved with your home team of professional towers — you just might hit the grand slam and be the MVP.
Batter up and play ball!
