“Super Ford” is the subject of the Tow Times May issue Spot the Difference photo, in which readers can find ten differences in one of two photos. This 2007 Ford Super Duty 4×6 Lariat heavy recovery assistance vehicle is a workhorse in the fleet of Ross Baker Towing Inc., of Sun Valley and Northridge, California. It’s pictured hauling a tandem assembly from the recovery scene involving an end-dump truck rear-ended in a collision

Super Ford specs: 4-inch lift; front winch assembly designed and installed by Tow World – Southern California location; hydraulic 15,000-lb Super Winch with half-inch wire rope; front bumper custom-made by Greg; four-point strobes; diesel; automatic trans; Jet Solaris light bar; light stick; four chain holders along the custom headache rack, allowing for at least 20 chains of different sizes; two boxes for snatch blocks and straps; two air tanks in side front bumper with Oasis compressor; large bed floor toolbox; rims and tires have been changed to larger 19.5 with Goodyear aggressive tread.

The truck was sent to Idaho Wrecker Sales where the bed rack was designed and built. It has rollers on the edge for allowing lumber to be loaded from the rear and placed on top. Eight tie-down points were added to the rack’s outer rails.

Ross Baker Towing Inc. runs a full-range fleet of light- to heavy-duty towing and recovery units and lowboy trailers.
