The Milwaukee, Wis., tow truck driver who shot two men who robbed him Friday, April 15, will not be facing charges, according to a news report.

Documents show Rodney Redmond and Ajahntae Banda, ages 18 and 22, pulled a knife on the tow truck driver outside of a home and robbed him of $400, the report states. Prosecutors said the tow truck driver pulled out a gun and shot the two men, one in the stomach and the other in the chest.

The tow truck driver, whose age was reported at 28, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon following the shootings. He was questioned, booked and released.

Both men are recovering in the hospital, and each will be charged with armed robbery. The district attorney’s office said the tow truck driver acted in self-defense and will not be charged, according to the report.
