Century Introduces the 1150R 50-ton RotatorApr 25th, 2014 | By Editorial Staff | Category: New Products
Miller Industries introduced their new Century 1150R (50 ton) rotator at the recent Florida Tow Show®. The 1150 boom was designed and extensively tested over a two-year period for a military project. Providing a maximum hook height of over 41 feet with a fully extended boom capacity of 22,000 lbs. — while reducing overall weight — was critical.
At the same time, Miller engineers were working with the manufacturer of a unique roller system to adapt to the recovery boom to allow it to travel effortlessly. The operator can rotate the boom 360 degrees while traveling up to 60 inches on the newly-designed sub-frame utilizing a greaseless, self-cleaning roller system with the ability to stop and start the travel under heavy loads. The Patent Pending 1150R’s traveling technology is available with the 4-stage front and rear “H” Beam outriggers and HHU underlift or 4-stage rear outriggers, SDU-4 underlift and a 50,000 lb deck winch.
The newly designed body provides increased compartment depth for additional equipment storage. Both units come standard with the patent pending Raptor Wireless Proportional control system that features precision fingertip control of the functions using rotating joystick and an information screen with load sensing functions along with many other features.
