Use Care When Towing Hybrid Electric VehiclesMar 2nd, 2012 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Tow Tip
Failure to shut off or disable the 12-volt system on a crashed, burned or burning hybrid gasoline or diesel/electric high voltage vehicle prior to performing your duties could result in serious injury, even death from the unintentional deployment of air bags, severe burns, electrical shock from high-voltage systems, or by being run over by an un-occupied vehicle operating in silent mode.
Always assume the high-voltage system is live. Disabling the 12-volt system is essential to ensure personal safety.
