A Langley, British Columbia, Canada, towing company owner has died of injuries received in a traffic accident that occurred March 11. Harold Hammond, operator of Hammond Towing, died Sunday, March 12. Hammond, a well-known local businessman, was driving a pickup truck on the Langley Bypass when a delivery van reportedly made an illegal left-hand turn, striking the pickup. Hammond and a passenger were taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in Vancouver for treatment. The delivery van driver was not seriously injured.
The Bypass was closed just after 9 a.m. as reconstruction teams examined the scene. Officials are investigating the accident with possible charges pending, a report said.
