Pennsylvania Tow Truck Driver Faces Murder Charges in Rival’s DeathMar 22nd, 2011 | By Editorial Staff | Category: National News, Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania tow truck driver was held on murder charges today in the September death of an alleged rival tow truck driver, according to reports.
Prosecutors say 26-year-old Glen McDaniel was held on murder charges today for the death of 30-year-old Ray Santiago. A security video tape played at the preliminary hearing shows Santiago being run over three times as witnesses stand nearby, the report states.
Authorities say the slaying stems from a turf war between rival towing companies in Philadelphia. McDaniel’s public defender had no comment, according to a report.
Santiago, who worked for Siani’s Towing, died after being struck by a tow truck driven by McDaniel, a driver for Straight Up Towing. Police said the incident occurred Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a bar at Frankford and LeHigh Avenues.
