Use Retracted Booms to Your AdvantageFeb 15th, 2014 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Tow Tip
A tow truck’s boom is strongest when it’s retracted, so always try to plan your recovery to use this to your advantage. Extend or raise the boom only as needed to accomplish the recovery. And the lower the boom, the more stable the truck will be. Attempting to perform recoveries with the boom completely extended may look good in photos, but this can easily turn into a real problem.
