Tow Truck Driver Dragged to Death IdentifiedFeb 24th, 2011 | By Editorial Staff | Category: Colorado, National News
The police have provided more information on the Colorado Springs tow truck driver killed Wednesday after being dragged behind an SUV, a report states.
A company employee identified J&J Towing co-owner, Allen Rose, 35, a married father of two and an Iraq War veteran who served multiple tours.
Rose was in the process of towing an illegally parked SUV when the owner of the SUV, a woman whose name has not yet been released, jumped into the SUV and took off. Rose’s leg was caught in a cable attached to her SUV when she took off, and was dragged for over a mile, before his legs were severed. Witnesses say they ran after the woman trying to get her to stop.
The SUV was found parked in a nearby neighborhood and police are still interviewing several witnesses, as well as the female driver, who as of this morning had not been arrested, despite earlier reports. It is not clear whether she knew that the driver was being dragged behind her or not, according to the report.
