Colorado Tow Truck Driver Dragged to Death

Colorado Springs police announced today that a tow truck driver died after being dragged nearly two miles behind an SUV he was trying to tow, according to news reports.

Witnesses said the tow truck driver was in the process of towing an illegally parked SUV when the female owner of the vehicle jumped into the SUV and drove off, the report states.

Witnesses said the victim’s leg was caught in a chain hanging off the back of the SUV. Witnesses said they ran after the woman to get her to stop. The victim was found 12 blocks away, according to the report.

Both the victim’s legs were severed in the accident and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say one person has been arrested and they are investigating several persons of interest. Authorities have not released the name of the tow truck driver or the woman.
