An arrest has been made in the dragging death of a Colorado Springs tow truck operator. A news report said Detra Farries, 32, was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Friday, Feb. 25. Farries was arrested on manslaughter charges.
Tow truck operator Allen Rose, 35, was killed Wednesday when he attempted to tow an SUV at an apartment building. Farries allegedly jumped into the SUV and drove away. A chain or cable snapped from the tow truck and Rose became entangled. He was dragged behind the fleeing SUV for over a mile, reports said.
Funeral services for Rose will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene. The service will be open to the public. A fund has been established to assist the Rose family at Key Bank. A donation can be made at any Key Bank Branch.
