Use a Proper Ground When Installing Light Bars

When installing light bars on a tow truck, here’s a tip from Tow Times Troubleshooting columnist Jon Wickham:

“It’s not enough for the body of the light bar to be bolted down in order for the light bar to be properly grounded. The individual ground wires also need to be connected to a good ground. Keep in mind that on many light bars, there’s more than one ground wire. For example, all the black wires coming out of the light bar electrical cable may be grounds. All the ground wires have to be grounded for the light bar to work.”
