The Tewksbury, New Jersey, Township Committee meeting scheduled for Feb. 8 will include public hearings on a number of ordinances, including new towing regulations, according to a news report.
The regulations would pertain to the towing of vehicles parked on private property without the property owner’s consent, parked illegally, or parked during a time at which such parking isn’t permitted, the report states. The vehicles would be towed without the owner’s consent and the owner would have to pay any fees involved. Fees would be based on time of service and size of vehicle.
Signs would be required to inform drivers of the rules of the parking lot and who to call if their car has been towed.
The ordinance also describes the rules for towing companies who want to be placed on the call list.
The meeting is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
