A man clearing snow from a flatbed tow truck at a central New Jersey towing business was killed when the bed was lowered, crushing him. Police say Thomas Serinese, 47, of Burlington, died Wednesday morning January 12.
According to news reports, Serinese and another employee at Coppa’s Towing in North Brunswick had raised the truck bed to allow snow to slide off. The employee then activated the controls to lower the bed, unaware that Serinese had leaned over the truck chassis on the opposite side. Serinese was pinned between the bed and the truck’s toolbox, reports said.
