Hydraulic Problems? Change the Filter?

Jan 5th, 2012 | By | Category: Tow Tip

When there’s a problem with the operation of hydraulic towing equipment functions, as when some or all of the hydraulic functions on the bed fail to work, or work slowly, don’t begin troubleshooting by replacing the hydraulic filter, except when there is an obvious failure of the filter — as when the filter is blown apart. Replacing the filter won’t solve the problem, which may be unrelated. For more, see the Troubleshooting column by Jon Wickham in the January issue of Tow Times.
