Helping Out in the Community

    Mike’s Garage and Wrecker Service of Vero Beach, Fla. donated more than $500 worth of toys and 15 hams to last year’s Salvation Army of Indian River County’s Holiday Feeding and Angel Tree Program.

    Since 1999, the goal of the Holiday Feeding and Angel Tree Program has been to help people in the community who can’t afford meals during the holidays.

    According to a news report, when Patty Jaholkowski, youngest daughter of Mike’s Garage and Wrecker Service owner Mike Jaholkowski, wanted less-fortunate kids to have Christmas presents, she made the Salvation Army of Indian River County’s Holiday Feeding and Angel Tree Program her charity.

    Mike’s Garage and Wrecker Service regularly donates time, energy and money to schools, charities, veterans and foundations that help handicapped children and the disabled, the report said.

Daimler Trucks North America Adds 1,100 Positions

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced the addition of a second shift and plans to ramp up production at its Freightliner Truck Manufacturing Plant in Cleveland, N.C., creating more than 1,100 new jobs by the end of 2012. The additional workers represent a 72 percent increase in personnel at the plant and will include approximately 1,072 shop employees and an additional 29 engineering and support positions to facilitate increased production.
